Sunlight 05:24
SUNLIGHT When I saw you in sunlight I knew that the time was right Oh, why? When you left me at midnight I knew that our time had passed me by Oh, why? And when I can't see it with my own eyes I fantasize Your real world Is my disguise Oh, why? Your unending discretion I hoped to be on your side Oh, why? Your comforting suggestions Could not help the pain behind my eyes Oh, why? Always searching for something real A feeling that both can feel Still, long after love had left your eyes Long after the clock had warned of night Whoa, still so long I tried So clear that it had died And still I can't comply Still I can't comply

Pelagus 06:27
PELAGUS Like waiting on the sunrise On the day it never came Feelings like gravitation That never go away Maybe there's somewhere you should be To seek a small inch of relief Maybe there's something you should try before you call it all a lie If you tell me all your secrets I might understand your pain If I can't see the bleeding You might appear insane You hide inside the shadow Seek comfort in the rain Apparently your choices Yet the world is to blame But if that's all that you can see, truly What are these words coming from me? And objective view without the full scene And it's scary how the truth can ring When your problem is with everything But above the pelagic Our lungs are alright We make our own artificial light As we stare at the mountains made of sand And wish we could mold the Earth with our hands Above the pelagic Stories are airtight 'Cuz we revise every day and night Clinging to the drowning juts of land It sometimes makes me think My way is not my way So if you can't hear the singing And you waste away your days Just know even the darkest Of thoughts still fade away Paint a brave new picture Make silver out of grey Rejuvenate the landscape While you make statues out of clay But if your mind just can't believe In any song that we can't currently sing You'll be a wooden wolverine At first glance you're menacing When your problem is with everything In the dark you're menacing When your problem is with everything

Quiet Escape 05:26
QUIET ESCAPE The air is clear and warm The night is free of storms A ship rests on the sea The atmosphere, it blankets me Nothing's wrong with this scene Nothing's wrong with me Still, I slip away from sense When nothing's wrong with the present tense I'll search for something new A fresh wind far from you Open mind and an open view Foiled again by simply feeling blue So I sail away No reason to stay Hey, hey, hey Watch me sail away Hey, hey, hey Make my quiet escape I've waited so long Just waiting is so wrong So I think that the time is right for me To use the sea And wind to reverse gravity My anchor's pulled again Maybe I'll reach the end Of this flat Earth's flat sea Fall off the edge eternally Where nothing's wrong with the scenery...

UNORIGINAL REPENTANCE I dedicate this song to yesterday And a time when doubts were washed away By a mothering philosophy Designed to keep the children out to play A desire to wipe the guilt away Created by things we do from day to day And if you ever felt your soul had been led astray There's a handful of words you'd need to say I've sinned before, yeah I've sinned before And the people tend to congregate Around a leader who extrapolates Modern wisdom from the ancient temple gates Designed to keep the impoverished at bay With fear and fervor they facilitate Religious war or some other subservient state Evil may not fully penetrate But there's a level of complicity I've seen before, yeah I've seen before Offer me peace for eternity Maybe I'm not sure I'd want to stay But if I ever want my soul lifted away There's three little words I'll need to say I've sinned before, yeah I've sinned before
5.
POSEIDON'S WRATH My mother nature starts a blaze Fills the sky with smoke and haze That blaze rages on for days And our homes are burned away Forgive the world It knows not a thing Forgive the world It knows not And you learn the girl's name And your heart is cast in flame And you hope her mind might change As you watch her walk away Forgive the girl She knows not what she does Forgive the girl She knows not Whoa What if she knows? Maybe she knows? I think she knows, yeah I think she knows, whoa A massive tsunami wave Turns our coastline into graves Tell me, is Poseidon to blame? Does blame ever have a name?

CEILING OF WAVES A year today Since my lover went her own way A year goes by And it certifies that time does not cure all And I'll take any advice That has to do with the passing of time 'Cuz it never seems to cease And it can drag one under the sea So low Solo Sometimes that's how I have to go Swim low Fly high That's what I do to get by A year today Since my good old friend He passed away A year goes by And I've not received a hint of reason why And I'll take any advice That has to do with the passing of lives 'Cuz it brings one to his knees And it can drag one under the sea Swimming backwards, I can see All the mistakes behind me And they keep me floating by Piling up like clouds of storm Meant to push me from the norm And the dregs of normalcy While in the end, we all want the same Damn things to keep us warm and sane Assimilation is a crime I'll remain just who I am Propped up by bones and guitar stands That's enough to keep me high Your glass ceiling is imaginary I see a roof of waves Ride the sine, feel the trough and know It keeps the crest alive And I'll take any advice That has to do with the advancing tide Coming straight for our city It means to drag us under the sea So low So low Sometimes, that's how we'll have to go Swim low Fly high It's what we'll do to survive

about

This is the first solo release for singer / songwriter Chris Wood, whose name is too common to use as the identifying artist name. Chris has performed in several groups as a vocalist, guitarist, and bassist, and this album marks a start in a new genre to compliment his roots and ties to punk and metal.
